New Art Nouveau is a project combining the spirit of the original movement with the creativity of practicing contemporary artists.

Art Nouveau was a creative movement popularised during the late 1800’s to early 1900’s and was distinctive because of its underlying philosophy. Works should be inspired by natural forms and shapes in an attempt to harmonise with the natural environment and that ‘style’ should permeate every aspect of life. The movement was eclectic, incorporating not just painters and sculptures, but most of the decorative arts, also architecture.

So what relevance might these concepts have in a modern society?

A team of practicing contemporary artists and creative people have been assembled as part of this project, and perhaps they may hold some of the answers.
